Please note that for guests wishing to park their car in a secure car park, secure public car parks are available upon reservation around Nice for variable charges. 美國海軍陸戰隊一架MV-22魚鷹式(Osprey)傾轉旋翼機5日在澳洲東部外海墜毀，當時機上載有26人，已有23人獲救，仍有3人下落不明。美軍6日暫停搜救工作。由於美軍魚鷹機同樣也在日本部署，令日本民眾再度對魚鷹機的安全感到疑慮，日本政府希望美軍能停飛同型機。
美軍陸戰隊發表聲明指出，已暫停3名失蹤隊員的搜救任務，並通知3名隊員的家屬。聲明還表示，接下來將與澳洲國防軍一同對失事區域展開進一步的搜索、評估與調查。
失事的這架魚鷹機屬於陸戰隊第31遠征分隊，從「好人理查號」兩棲突擊艦(USS Bonhomme Richard)起飛，參加美澳聯合軍事演習，卻不幸墜毀於澳洲東部外海上。
由於美軍在普天間基地部署有24架魚鷹機，日本防衛大臣小野寺五典表示，由於日本也有擔心的聲音，在美軍尚未清楚說明事故原因前，希望美軍能先停飛駐日的同型機。10日將有6架魚鷹機將參與在北海道舉行的日美共同軍演，是否讓美軍魚鷹機參加，小野寺表示希望能與美軍協調。
魚鷹機具備旋翼機的垂直起降能力，同是又具備固定翼機的高速飛行特性，被美軍視為取代CH-47運輸直升機的下一代運輸載具。不過，魚鷹機自研發以來發生多起重大飛安事故造成慘重傷亡，因此安全性一直遭受質疑。
不顧沖繩居民反對，美軍2012年10月起在普天間基地部署有24架魚鷹機，日本防衛省也將斥資30億美元採購17架魚鷹機，但是去年12月13日發生首起駐日美軍魚鷹機墜毀事故，再度引發日本民眾對魚鷹機安全的疑慮。
